• We were looking for rustic but comfortable for our 4 nights in Bull Shoals. They have the 'rustic' down, but there were issues: Proprietor could not locate a key for our cabin until the 3rd night. Water heater broke down after the first night, was not fixed, and no compensation was offered. Had to cannibalize neighboring BBQ grills to construct something usable. A 'spare pillow' (I think) that must have been on the shelf for 5 years was stuck to the shelf itself and hid an active wasp nest. Neighbors told me their cabins were dirty as well. Screened in porch left plenty of wasps in. When we arrived, smoke alarm was disassembled and had no batteries (which they did provide when asked). We weren't really there to watch TV, but only 1-2 channels available. On a positive note, Ginny was very friendly and helped suggest activities. Still, I think this place has seen better days...we paid for and expected a reasonably priced, basic, but functional cabin. Now we know why the proprietor prefers cash--payment can't be cancelled after an unsatisfactory stay.
